The Calspan hypersonics team is led by technologists with a unique experience base in hypersonic flight testing including leadership of the historic X-43A flights in addition to playing key roles on X-51 and several other successful flight programs. This expertise is leveraged in support of major hypersonic demonstrator programs in roles ranging from subject matter expert (SME) consulting to subsystem developers. With decades of focused experience, Calspan specializes in affordable hypersonic flight test leveraging sounding rockets and surplus missiles to flight test ramjet and scramjet components and systems.
Low Cost Flight Testing
Calspan is currently the payload prime contractor on the joint AFRL/NASA HIFiRE 2-Controls (HF2C) flight test program, leveraging focused work in this area for decades.
Demonstrator Systems
Calspan works with the government and propulsion & airframe prime contractors on major hypersonic flight demonstrator systems.
